{{/presale}}The release of an American Mercury Dime Gold Coin in 2016 marked the centennial of the first appearance of the famed Winged Liberty design from Adolph A. Weinman. Right now, you can buy 2016-W American Mercury Dime 1/10 oz Gold Coins online from Provident Metals in near-perfect condition.
Coin Highlights:
With your purchase of the 2016-W American Mercury Dime 1/10 oz Gold Coin in this product listing at Provident Metals, you will receive a specimen that is in near-perfect condition. Coins with the SP69 grade exhibit full, original mint luster and come with no more than two minor detracting flaws present. Examples of acceptable flaws include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines, with these flaws located outside of the primary focal areas of the coin.
Please remember that additional labels and PCGS or NGC labeling inside the slab can vary beyond the SP69 grade. We cannot guarantee which grading house labels youll receive and whether or not additional labels, such as First Strike or Early Release, will be present. These factors could all match or vary on the coins you receive if you buy more than one.
Obverse
Winged Liberty is depicted in left-profile relief on the obverse of 2016-W American Mercury Dime 1/10 oz Gold Coins. This effigy of Liberty comes with a winged Phrygian cap on her head and inscriptions of Liberty, In God We Trust, 2016, and the AW signature mark initials of Adolph A. Weinman.
Reverse
A Roman fasces is depicted in the reverse design of 2016-W American Mercury Dime Gold Coin. This image was created by Weinman for the Mercury Dime. The fasces was a sign of the power wielded by Roman magistrates, but in this design is wrapped in an olive branch to symbolize peace alongside power. Inscriptions include United States of America, One Dime, E Pluribus Unum, and Au 24k 1/10 oz.
History
The American Centennial Gold issue in 2016 included Weinmans Walking Liberty Half Dollar design on a 1/2 oz gold coin and Hermon Atkins MacNeils Standing Liberty Quarter design on a 1/4 oz gold coin to complete this series alongside these 1/10 oz gold coins replicating the Mercury Dime.
