{{/presale}}The most powerful god in Norse mythology is Odin. King of the gods, he reigns as the King of Asgard, the mythical home of the gods and goddesses of Norse mythology. Like his counterpart Zeus in Roman mythology, he is the all-powerful ruler and often uses disguises to help him blend in with mortal humans and conceal himself among even his fellow deities. Today, you have the chance to buy perfect condition 2016 Tuvalu Norse Gods Odin High Relief 2 oz Silver Coins at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The Norse Gods Series from the Perth Mint comes with a limited mintage of 2,000 coins per design release. Each one of the coins started out as a 2 oz rimless blank that was struck in high relief, a process that consists of striking the blanks numerous times under intense pressure. The result is a coin with a sunken field and higher relief, or 3D depth, to the design elements struck onto the coins.
Obverse
On the obverse of 2016 Tuvalu Norse Gods Odin High Relief 2 oz Silver Coins is a depiction of Queen Elizabeth II. The design was created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley for the Royal Mint of England. It was the fourth-generation design on British coins and the fifth-generation design on Australian coins. The bust of the Queen is surrounded by inscriptions of Queen Elizabeth II, 2 oz 999 Silver, 2016, Tuvalu, 2 Dollars.
Reverse
The reverse face of the 2016 Tuvalu Norse Gods Odin High Relief 2 oz Silver Coins includes an image of the all-powerful Odin. King of Asgard, he rides on his powerful steed named Sleipnir wielding a spear while being flanked by wolves and ravens. The only inscriptions on this face of the coin read Odin and the P mintmark of the Perth Mint.
History
Odin is more than the King of the Gods. He is also the god of war and death. When warriors die in battle, the souls of those warriors are whisked off to join Odin, while others are sent to a more dire fate. Like many gods, Odin has a number of associations that include being the Sky God and the god of wisdom and poetry.
