The Royal Australian Mint, the sovereign mint of the nation, also offers a kangaroo series of its own for investors. Provident Metals happily offers the 2016 Royal Australian Mint Kangaroo 1 oz Gold Coin for purchase.
Highlights:
With your purchase of a 2016 Royal Australian Mint Kangaroo 1 oz Gold Coin, your specimen arrives individually packaged. Each coin in this series from the Royal Australian Mint comes with a sealed protective plastic card. Obverse
The obverse field of 2016 Royal Australian Mint Kangaroo 1 oz Gold Coins includes the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Designed in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley for the Royal Mint of England, this design is the fifth to feature on Australian coins and captures the Queen wearing her favorite tiara.
Reverse
On the reverse of all 2016 Royal Australian Mint Kangaroo 1 oz Gold Coins is the image of a kangaroo leaping across the Outback in left-profile relief. This image has been recreated on countless Australian coin programs since its introduction on the Australian copper penny in the 1950s.
History
The Royal Australian Mint has offered its Kangaroo 1 oz Gold Coins since 1993. The 2016 release of the coins is the first to offer this design directly inspired by the former Australian copper penny.

The Royal Australian Mint is the official sovereign mint of Australia. Founded in 1965 by the Currency Act of 1965, the mint was established in Canberra, the federal capital city, and took over Australian coining from the Perth Mint and Melbourne Mint. The Perth Mint is the only other mint that remains in operation in the country as a state-owned entity of the government of Western Australia.
