{{/presale}}To celebrate some of the most remarkable animals in Canada, the Royal Canadian Mint launched the Canadian Wildlife Series. This unique series kicks off with a bang with the 2016 Reverse Proof Canadian Maple Leaf Wolf Privy 1 oz Silver Coin. Right now, you can purchase this coin from Provident Metals in PCGS SP69 FS condition.
Highlights:
The coins in this listing are in near-perfect condition. They have been graded an SP69, which means that they have their full, original mint luster with a maximum of two detracting flaws. These coins are struck like proof coins, but with a satiny, sometimes matte, finish with a semi-granular look. That is why they are called Specimen Proof instead of just Proof.
As Reverse Proof coins, the features of these coins are the opposite as regular Proof coins. For example, with a Proof coin, the background fields are shiny and mirror-like, while the design fields are frosted. With these coins, the background fields are frosted, but the design fields are shiny and mirrored.
Obverse
On the obverse of these coins, you will find the image of Queen Elizabeth II. In the image, the Queen is shown in right-profile relief.
Reverse
The reverse face shows the sugar maple leaf design that is common on all of the Maple Leaf Coins. However, this design is made unique with the small Wolf Privy mark that is located on the lower left side of the sugar maple leaf design. Engravings on this side include the nation of issue, purity, weight, and metal content.
History
The Royal Canadian Mint created this series to honor the majestic animals that call Canada home. All of the releases in this series will include the creatures from the Canadian Wildlife Series. These coins received a special First Strike designation due to the fact that they were received by the PCGS depository within the first 30 days of their initial release.
