{{/presale}}Mexican Libertad Coins are available from the Mexican Mint each year in four versions: bullion, proof, reverse proof, and antique. Some of these versions include the largest coin in the series, the 1 Kilo silver coins, while others do not. The bullion version is one of the primary options available for purchasing the 1 Kilo silver coin. Today, you have the opportunity to get the 2016 Mexican Libertad 1 Kilo Silver Coin online at Provident Metals in perfect condition.
Highlights:
Mexican Libertad silver bullion coins rolled out over the course of decades in various different weights and versions. The bullion coin debuted in 1982 with just a 1 oz silver version. Over the course of the next two decades, a 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/10 oz, and 1/20 oz coin were added, along with a 2 oz, 5 oz, and 1 Kilo silver coin. The proof series followed a similar roll out with the 1 oz coin first, followed by fractional ounces and coins larger than 1 oz.
Obverse
On the obverse side of the 2016 Mexican Libertad 1 Kilo Silver Coin is the image of Winged Victory. Her figure stands 22-feet tall atop the Mexican Independence Victory Column in Mexico City. The statue itself was built in 1910 out of copper and marked the 100th anniversary of the start of the revolutionary war. It was placed on top of the Victory Column in 1921 to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of the war with Spain.
Reverse
The reverse face of 2016 Mexican Libertad 1 Kilo Silver Coins includes a depiction of the coat of arms for Mexico. In fact, you will find 11 different versions of the seal used throughout national history. The larger seal in the center is the modern coat of arms for Mexico, while the 10 around it represent historical versions of the emblem used since Mexico gained its independence from Spain.
History
Mexican Libertad 1 Kilo Silver Coins are among the lowest minted in the series. The highest mintage figure the series has ever seen was 6,000 coins in 2011. More recent releases in 2018 and 2019 saw figures of just 500 and 200, respectively.
