{{/presale}}The 2016 release of the American Eagle bullion coins marked the 30th anniversary of the series. Introduced in 1986, the American Eagles boast silver and gold bullion coins that were originally available in Brilliant Uncirculated and Proof options. A Burnished American Eagle was introduced to both collections in 2006. Today, you have the opportunity to get 2016 American Eagle 1 oz Gold Coins in perfect condition online from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The 2016 release of American Eagle Gold Coins was met with a bump in interest at a time when demand for gold and silver was on the rise. Political turmoil and economic uncertainty pushed demand for gold and silver higher in 2015 and 2016, with the American Eagle 1 oz Gold Coin selling 817,500 coins in the 1 oz gold weight in 2016. This was the highest figure since 2010.
Obverse
On the obverse side of 2016 American Eagle Gold Coins is a depiction of Lady Liberty. Created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, this vision of Liberty was developed for the $20 Double Eagle Gold Coin. Liberty walks toward the viewer with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her right hand. The inscriptions on this face read Liberty and 2016.
Reverse
The reverse of 2016 American Eagle 1 oz Gold Coins includes the family of American bald eagles. Designed by Miley Busiek, the image showcases the large nest of a bald eagle family with a female and hatchling in the nest as a male eagle flies overhead. The inscriptions on this side include United States of America, E Pluribus Unum, In God We Trust, and 1 oz Fine Gold 50 Dollars.
History
American Eagle Gold Coins are available annually from the United States Mint. The BU American Eagle Gold Coins are the only ones in the series to feature four weights in all of the years of issue dating back to 1986.
