Each of these unique, reverse proof coins consists of one troy ounce of .9999 fine silver, and is manufactured by the Royal Canadian Mint. Because the Canadian government backs the silver maples, and recognizes them as legal tender, each 2016 Silver Maple may be included in a Precious Metals IRA.
The reverse of each 1 oz Silver Maple features the iconic Maple Leaf, a national symbol of Canada. Just to the left of the leaf’s stem is a privy mark of a carefully crafted monkey, which honors the Chinese Zodiac’s 2016 animal. “CANADA,” “9999” and “FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR” are inscribed.
Queen Elizabeth II graces the obverse along with inscriptions of “ELIZABETH II,” 5 DOLLARS” and “2016.”
Privy marked Silver Maples occupy a unique space in the bullion industry. Each round consists of one troy ounce of .9999 fine silver like its non-privy marked counterparts. The privy mark, however, is an additional design element, and in combination with the greatly reduced mintage numbers, Privy Mark Silver Maples carry a much higher numismatic value than other Silver Maples.
Individual Monkey Privy Silver Maples will ship in Reverse Proof condition in a plastic flip. Quantities of 25 will ship in mint tubes, and quantities of 500 in strapped mint monster boxes.
