{{/presale}}The 2015 Proof Alaska Eskimo Polar Bear 1 oz Silver Coin is the first design released in 2015, as a part of the Native America Silver Dollar series that recognizes 50 tribes from across North America and Canada. The coins each feature an image of a tribe member and an animal that had an important role in the tribal culture. These coins contain 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver and are highly valued by investors and collectors alike. The beautifully designed coins are produced by the Native American Mint, which is operated by the Jamul Sovereign Nation in California.
Highlights:
The 2015 Proof Alaska Eskimo Polar Bear 1 oz Silver Coin honors the Eskimo tribes that call Alaska home. What many may not know is that Eskimo is a catch-all term used to describe the indigenous peoples who were traditionally known to inhabit the northern circumpolar areas of the globe. This area stretches across Canada and from Siberia in eastern Russia into Alaska.
Obverse
The obverse design of the 2015 Proof Alaska Eskimo Polar Bear 1 oz Silver Coin features an image of three Eskimo tribe members. They are dressed in traditional dress, to keep warm. The coins also feature engravings that include the words Eskimo above the image. “999 Silver 2015 One Dollar One Ounce” extends from left to right along the lower part of the obverse side of the coin.
Reverse
The reverse design of the 2015 Proof Alaska Eskimo Polar Bear 1 oz Silver Coin features an intricately designed image an adult and young polar bear walking in the Arctic Circle. The coin features engravings that include the words Alaska Polar Bear and America.
Your 2015 Proof Alaska Eskimo Polar Bear 1 oz Silver Coin has a satin finish. This means that the finish is mirror-like but does not have the same level of mirrored background as a brilliant proof does.
The 2015 Proof Alaska Eskimo Polar Bear 1 oz Silver Coin was the first coin released in the series of 50 planned coins. The coins have a face value of $1, but they are not permitted to be considered legal tender in the United States. This is because the United States Mint is, by law, the only entity holding the authority to produce legal tender in the country.
