{{/presale}}The Royal Mint of London is not one to be left out when it comes to the craze surrounding Lunar Year coins. 2015 is the Year of the Sheep (or Year of the Goat) in the Zodiac, and mints around the world have produced coins with imagery reflecting this character. Today, you have the chance to get the 2015 British Lunar Year of the Sheep 1 oz Silver Coin at Provident Metals in near-perfect condition.
Highlights:
In the Zodiac, those born under the sign of the sheep are believed to be peace-loving, kind, and popular, yet stubborn, and interested in clinging to the nature of the world as it is at the moment. The sheep is the eighth animal in the 12-character Chinese Lunar calendar, and its turn on the Zodiac is alternatively referred to as the Year of the Goat or Year of the Ram.
The image featured on the reverse side of these coins were designed by British-Chinese artist Wuon-Gean Ho. She was commissioned to create the first image in the 12-coin Lunar Series introduced by the Royal Mint, and continues her impressive designs on the 2015 coin.
Obverse
The obverse bears Ian Rank-Broadleys image of Queen Elizabeth II. The nations monarch is featured in right-profile relief.
Reverse
On the reverse is the image of two long-haired mountain goats with steely glares. Engravings above the animals read Year of the Sheep 2015, and the coins weight, metal content, and purity.
Each of the 2015 British Lunar Year of the Sheep 1 oz Silver Coin available in this listing has an MS69 grade from the NGC. This indicates that each coin has its full, original luster, and no more than two minor detracting flaws.
