{{/presale}}The 2015 Australian Wedge Tail Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin was an entry in the second series of the Perth Mint’s Australian Eagle coins, with the first such collectibles having come out in the previous year and proving immensely popular. Both series represented a unique collaboration with a master engraver from the U.S. Mint and were known for their quality high-relief artwork and immaculate striking work by the Perth Mint. This coin is available to you online from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The 2015 Australian Wedge Tail Eagle Silver Coin is a showcase of masterful engraving and high-quality striking technology that realizes the dynamism of a bird of prey in mid-flight in pure silver. It comes in plastic flip packaging and ships fully insured by Provident Metals against even the remote possibility or loss or damage. This precious collectible coin is enduringly popular among discerning collectors.
Obverse
The coin’s obverse side features a legal tender effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, confirming its status as legal tender of Australia. It’s joined by the inscriptions “Elizabeth II,” “Australia,” and “1 Dollar.”
Reverse
The reverse design captures a Wedge-Tailed Eagle in mid-flight with claws out, as if in the act of sighting and swooping in toward prey on the ground below. It’s accompanied by the inscription “Australian Wedge-Tailed Eagle” at the coin’s rim and with a verification of the coin’s silver content and weight.
History
John Mercanti, an award-winning and illustrious chief engraver from the U.S. Mint, collaborated in the artistic design of this extraordinary coin, contributing the dynamic eagle imagery that makes it such a prized piece among collectors and wildlife enthusiasts. The Perth Mint’s advanced striking technology does full justice to the high-relief medallic sculpting that marks the piece as a standout.
