{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}The Lunar Series II Silver coins from The Perth Mint are a popular choice among collectors and investors interested in Chinese Zodiac-themed bullion. This 12-year coin series features .999 fine silver coins that celebrate the animals of the traditional zodiac calendar. Each release offers detailed artwork and dependable silver purity while honoring an important cultural tradition. Today, the 2015 Australian Lunar Goat Lion Privy 1 oz Silver Coin is available for purchase online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 2015 Australian Lunar Goat Lion Privy 1 oz Silver Coin comes with a protective acrylic capsule. The Lunar Goat Lion Privy release was struck with a maximum mintage of only 35,000 coins. This represented a significant reduction compared to the earlier 2012 Lion Privy issue, which had a maximum of 200,000 coins. The 2015 coin ultimately sold out its full mintage after its release.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2015 Australian Lunar Goat Lion Privy Silver Coin displays Queen Elizabeth II. This version of the Queens portrait is the fourth-generation effigy designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. The image has appeared on numerous Commonwealth coin issues. In the design, Her Majesty is shown in right-profile wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. The inscriptions here include ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, 1 OZ 999 SILVER, 2015, and 1 DOLLAR.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2015 Lunar Goat Lion Privy 1 oz Silver Coin is the Lunar Goat artwork. The design shows a goat standing in a natural setting. Fine detailing brings out the texture of the animals fleece along with elements of the surrounding landscape. The Perth Mint is known for careful craftsmanship, and the reverse design reflects that attention to detail. Inscriptions here include YEAR OF THE GOAT, the P mint mark, and the Chinese symbol for the goat.
History
The Year of the Goat began in February 2015 as part of the Chinese Zodiac calendar cycle. Depending on cultural interpretation, this zodiac sign may also be described as the Sheep or Ram. Those born during the Year of the Goat are traditionally believed to possess creative abilities, a gentle personality, and an appreciation for artistic expression.
