{{/presale}}The ATB Series from the United States Mint is an ambitious collectible series of silver coins built on the concept of the circulation State Quarters Series the US Mint put into circulation in the 1990s. Each of the 50 US states, five overseas territories, and the federal district got its own unique coin design in the ATB Series with five designs available per year. Provident Metals currently has the 2015 ATB Kisatchie 5 oz Silver Coin available with an NGC certification for you to purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase a 2015 ATB Kisatchie 5 oz Silver Coin through this product listing, you are buying a coin with a near-perfect certification. The Mint State 69 grade is given to coins that showcase full, original mint luster with no more than two minor detracting flaws present. Examples of acceptable flaws at this grade level include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines found outside the primary focal points of the coin.
Additionally, the PCGS found these bullion coins to exhibit proof-like visuals. Known as a DMPL, or deeply-mirrored proof-like coin, these ATB coins have hints of frosted designs and mirrored fields.
Obverse
The obverse of all 2015 ATB Kisatchie 5 oz Silver Coins shares the same design found throughout the series, that of President George Washington. Adapted from the circulation quarter, this left-profile bust features the first President of the United States in the same design originally created in 1932 by John Flanagan.
Reverse
On the reverse side of 2015 ATB Kisatchie 5 oz Silver Coins is a depiction of a wild turkey in Kisatchie National Forest. The bird is flying low above the grasslands made up of Eastern Bluegrass, and you can see one of the towering longleaf pines of the forest rising toward the sky in the background.
History
Kisatchie National Forest protects a unique ecosystem within the state of Louisiana. Though much of the state is known for its coastal ecosystems and vast bayous in the south, the forested northern parishes are actually considered part of the broader Central Plains in the United States with dense longleaf pines forests and open flatwoods.
