Obverse

On the reverse face, the 2013 ATB Great Basin 5 oz Silver Coin depicts a lone bristlecone pine tree within the bounds of Great Basin National Park. The bristlecone pine is the oldest known nonclonal organism and the park is home to a vast number of these ancient trees.
History
Great Basin National Park is named for the Great Basin, a dry range between the mountains of the Sierra Nevada and the Wasatch ranges. The park is situated 290 miles to the north of Las Vegas and encompasses a total of 77,180 acres of land.
