{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}The Lunar Series II coins from the Perth Mint are among the most popular modern silver bullion collections. Produced over a twelve-year period, each release in the series highlights one of the animals from the Chinese Zodiac while offering investment-grade silver content. Struck from one ounce of .999 pure silver, these coins are valued by both collectors and investors. Right now, 2012 Australian Lunar Dragon Lion Privy 1 oz Silver Coins are available at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 2012 Australian Lunar Dragon Lion Privy 1 oz Silver Coin is delivered in a protective plastic capsule. The Lion Privy version of the Silver Lunar Dragon had a strictly limited mintage of 200,000 coins. By the close of 2012, the Perth Mint confirmed that the entire mintage had sold out.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 2012 Australian Lunar Dragon Lion Privy Silver Coin, you will find a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. This image is the fourth-generation effigy of the Queen created by Ian Rank-Broadley. The design shows Her Majesty in right-profile relief wearing the well-known Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2012 Lunar Dragon Lion Privy 1 oz Silver Coin features an image of a Chinese dragon moving across the field. The dragon is carefully engraved with visible scales, flowing whiskers, and extended claws. The detailed artwork reflects the skill of the Perth Mints engraving team and highlights the importance of the dragon in Chinese culture. Inscriptions include ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, 1 OZ 999 SILVER, 2012, and 1 DOLLAR.
History
The Dragon is one of the most important figures in the Chinese Zodiac and is unique as the only mythical animal included in the twelve-sign cycle. People born during Dragon years, including 2012, are often described as confident, energetic, and ambitious. In Chinese tradition, the dragon is closely connected with power, prosperity, and good fortune. Inscriptions read YEAR OF THE DRAGON, the P mint mark, and the Chinese emblem for the dragon.
