History
Since 1996, the Perth Mint has released three collections of the Lunar Series, following each animal sequentially of the Chinese zodiac. In 1999, silver coins debuted in the Lunar Series with the Year of the Rabbit release. Every coin through this series has been released in various weights and purities, offering a unique touch that makes the series popular among coin collectors worldwide.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2012 Australian Silver Lunar Dragon 2 oz Coin shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. This original portrait has been featured on many Australian coins and is featured as the obverse design for the Lunar series from 1999 to 2019. The appearance of Queen Elizabeth IIs portrait honors her as a revered leader of Australia. The obverse also shows the weight, value, and purity of the coin, as well as its release year and two inscriptions: AUSTRALIA and ELIZABETH II.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2012 Australian Silver Lunar Dragon 2 oz Coin, a new design is introduced showing the majestic Chinese dragon. The dragon appears to slither across the surface of the coin, showing off its scale and long legs. Its open mouth is directed toward the Pearl of Wisdom. The reverse also features the inscription Year of the Dragon and the Chinese character for dragon.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies.
