{{/presale}}Provident Metals is proud to announce the availability of the 2012 Austrian Silver Philharmonic One Troy Ounce 99.99% silver coin to our fine bullion customers. Sometimes referred to as the Silver Vienna Philharmonic in honor of the famed orchestra by that name, the stunning 2012 one ounce Austrian Silver Philharmonic continues an eight hundred year tradition of fine Austrian craftsmanship. They also hold the distinction of being one of the only regularly issued silver bullion coins denominated in Euros and widely available for investors, though they usually find their way into the hands of collectors who prize the for their beauty and artistry. Austrian Silver Philharmonic coins were first introduced in 2008, joining their highly-prized counterparts that are struck in gold. The 2012 Austrian Silver Philharmonic version is minted in pure triple-nine silver (a fineness of .999), and has a face value of 1.5 and measure 37mm across. Many collectors believe the Silver and Gold Vienna Philharmonics are some of the most beautiful coins in the world. Therefore, both investors and collectors will appreciate the value of these European treasures.
Their very elegant design is inspired by one of Austria’s greatest institutions, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. The obverse, or front, of the coin depicts the world famous Great Organ housed in the equally famous Golden Hall of Vienna. It is also inscribed with the words “1 Unze Feinsilber,” or “1 ounce pure silver” and includes the face value of 1.5 euros. The reverse features a grouping of orchestral instruments arranged with such painstaking detail and so uniquely that they are sometimes referred to as the bouquet of instruments. This bouquet, however, is comprised of a string bass surrounded by cellos and violins with a backdrop comprised of a harp, bassoon, and Viennese horn. The instruments are arranged beneath the German name of the Vienna Philharmonic orchestra: ‘WIENER PHILHARMONIKER’. The 2012 Austrian Silver Philharmonic coin once again succeeds brilliantly at paying homage to the grand musical heritage so often associated with Austria. We know our silver bullion investors will appreciate the coins’ value in pure silver, and our collectors will appreciate the coins’ tradition as a genuine piece of art.
