{{/presale}}In 1986, the United States Mint launched the American Eagle bullion coin program, which included the introduction of the 1 oz Proof American Silver Eagle coin. The program aimed to give investors an opportunity to invest in precious metals, while also paying tribute to American heritage. Provident Metals now has 2010-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins available to you in near-perfect condition for purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase one of these 2010-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins online at Provident Metals, you will receive a coin in near-perfect condition. PF69 coins showcase full, original mint luster and a maximum of two flaws. UCAM specimens are those with strong, frosted designs and deeply-mirrored, clear fields.
Obverse
Adolph A. Weinman’s iconic Walking Liberty is the highlight of the 2010-W Proof American Eagle Silver Coins obverse design. The full-length depiction of Liberty in left-profile relief is beautifully crafted, as she strides towards the sun on the horizon. Inscriptions include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 2010.
Reverse
Robert Scot’s 1794 design of the heraldic eagle, holding the US national shield, inspired the modernized image on the reverse of the 2010-W Proof Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins. This design was first introduced in 1986, marking the beginning of the Silver Eagle Series and was created by John Mercanti. Inscriptions on this side read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, ONE DOLLAR, and the W mint mark.
History
The 2010 release of the Proof American Eagle Silver Coin experienced a jump in demand that was supported by two factors. Most notably, it marked the return of the series after a one-year hiatus in 2009. Additionally, it was issued during the Great Recession, a driving factor in higher demand from 2008-2015.
