{{/presale}}One of the U.S. Mint’s most popular coin series in the 21st century has been the America the Beautiful Quarters Program, created to celebrate natural sites and historic landmarks across all of America’s states and territories. These coins feature beautiful design and craftsmanship, and the Provident Metals team is pleased to be able to offer the fifth release in the series — a tribute to Mount Hood National Forest — in a Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC)-certified grade of SP-70. Provided by one of the world’s most trusted third-party grading services, this coin’s flawless quality and original-mint luster is sure to be recognized by dealers internationally. The 2010-P 5 oz Silver Burnished ATB Mount Hood Coin is now available.
Highlights:
The 2010-P Silver Burnished ATB Mount Hood Coin is a five-ounce collectors’ edition coin that comes in a protective plastic container, fully insured by Provident Metals against any chance of mishap in the shipping process. Specially burnished after minting to provide a beautiful matte finish, the coin’s SP-70 or “Specimen Proof 70” grade denotes a coin free of detracting flaws.
Obverse
The coin’s obverse field features President George Washington in a profile effigy, accompanied by the “P” mint mark and the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.” “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST” and “QUARTER DOLLAR.”
Reverse
The view of Mount Hood behind Lost Lake dominates the coin’s reverse field, and is accompanied by the lettering “MOUNT HOOD,” “OREGON,” “2010” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
History
This celebration of the Mount Hood National Forest is devoted to a famous national park first founded in 1893. The forest sprawls across more than a million acres of forest extending south from the Columbia River Gorge and encompasses over 170 developed areas for recreation and famous sites in their own right such as Timberline Lodge and the Clackamas Wild and Scenic River. It is an annual draw for wilderness enthusiasts that include mountain climbers, skiers, rafters, boaters, and hunters. This coin is the fifth issue from the year 2010 and in the series as a whole.
