{{/presale}}History lovers, state coin collectors, or those looking to complete their America the Beautiful silver coin display may need the first coin issued in the ATB series. The 2010 ATB Hot Springs 5 oz Silver Coin features an image of one of Arkansas’ most notable historic locations, and Provident Metals works to provide you with MS69-graded options for this item.
Highlights
Obverse
The obverse of this coin is the same as the obverse image on all coins in the ATB quarter series. It’s the portrait of George Washington that you’ll recognize from most quarters; he’s been on every minting of the quarter since 1932. The portrait design got a slight restoration for the ATB series just to ensure the clarity of the image. Inscriptions on the obverse of this coin include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, LIBERTY, QUARTER DOLLAR and IN GOD WE TRUST
Reverse
The reverse design was created by Joseph Menna and depicts the Hot Springs National Park headquarters building. In front of the building a detailed fountain is sculpted, a nod to the 47 springs that run in the area. It’s these springs that originally called attention to the landscape; almost 200 years ago, the federal government made the area a national site so that it could protect those resources. Inscriptions on the reverse side of the coin read HOT SPRINGS, ARKANSAS, 2010 and E PLURIBUS UNUM.
Packaging
Each 2010 ATB Hot Springs Silver Coin ships in a protective plastic slab and includes certification labels. This is a variable listing, which means labels can come from either NGC or PCGS. You’re not guaranteed a specific label, though every coin in this listing is graded at MS69. We pull from the available inventory at the time payment clears.
History
Hot Springs National Park presents a wide range of historic opportunities. It’s the site of a prehistoric American Indian quarry and offers numerous options for exploring the history of early American health and wellness. An entire town developed around the area based, in part, on health services related to the springs.
