{{/presale}}American Eagle Silver Coins from the United States Mint include three versions and have a history that dates back to 1986. The debut year included BU and Proof coins, while the 20th-anniversary release in 2006 brought about the introduction of a Burnished coin. Certified versions of the coins are coveted by investors and collectors. Provident Metals now has near-perfect 2005-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins available to you for purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase a 2005-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin online at Provident Metals, you will receive a coin that is in near-perfect condition. Coins with a PR69 grade showcase full, original mint luster with no more than two minor detractions present. Acceptable flaws at this grade level include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines. These flaws must be located outside of the primary focal points of the coin. DCAM designations indicate deep-cameo visuals that include strong, frosted designs and deeply-mirrored, clear fields.
Obverse
Walking Liberty is found on the obverse of 2005-W Proof American Eagle Silver Coins. This image was created for the US half dollar in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman. The image shows Liberty in left-profile relief as she walks across the design element toward the sun on the horizon. The inscriptions include Liberty, In God We Trust, and 2005.
Reverse
The heraldic eagle of the United States is featured in the reverse design of 2005-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins. The design was developed by John Mercanti in 1986 and shows the bald eagle supporting the US national shield. The eagle clutches the olive branch of peace in one talon and the arrows of war in the other. There is a triangular cluster of 13 stars overhead. Inscriptions on this side of the coin read United States of America, E Pluribus Unum, 1 oz. Fine Silver – One Dollar, and the W mint mark of the West Point Mint.
History
The 2005 release of the Proof American Eagle Silver Coin hit a mintage high that had not been seen in the series since 1987, just the second year of issue for the coins. The 2005 issues increase marked the third year in a row of growth in demand.
