American Eagle Gold Coins from the United States Mint boast 22-karat gold content. The coins all have 91.67% gold content by weight with the remainder of the metallic alloy consisting of 5.33% copper and 3% silver. When it debuted in 1986, the American Eagle Gold Coin was the first gold coin issued by the mint since 1933 and the purest gold coin issued in the US since 1834.
