Today, you can purchase the 2 x 1 oz Silver 2020 Germania Beasts Fafnir Geminus Ice and Fire Set from Provident Metals. When you buy this set, your rounds will come in capsules with a presentation box and Certificate of Authenticity.
Highlights:
When you purchase the 2×1 oz Silver 2020 Germania Beasts Fafnir Geminus Ice and Fire Set from Provident Metals, you will receive your rounds in plastic capsules and a specialty blisterpack. The blisterpacks feature brilliant designs that provide a perfect option for displaying your beautiful new rounds. Each set also comes with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
This set is so special because it contains two rounds with opposite designs. On one round, Fafnirs body is shown in fiery hues of red, orange, and yellow with an icy blue background. The second round shows Fafnir in those icy blue tones on a bright, warm-toned background.
Obverse
The obverse face of each round shows Fafnirs body as it twists up the side of the round. At the top, you will notice that the rest of his body seems to disappear, but the remaining half of his body is featured on the reverse. The obverse face is where you will see Fafnirs long tongue and sharp claws. Inscriptions include the phrases Fafnir and 1 oz Ag 999.9.
Reverse
On the reverse, you will see Fafnirs lower body as it entangles itself around the image of the Bicephalous Eagle, a two-headed eagle that serves as the symbol of the Roman god Janus. Janus is the god of all origins and the guardian of doors, passageways, and bridges. The eagle is shown with its heads facing opposite directions to symbolize the past and present. When both sides of the rounds are placed together, Fafnirs body makes the shape of an infinity symbol.
History
The Germanic Beasts Series was created to honor the scariest mythological creatures of Ancient Germany. Each new release will feature a unique design of a different mythological creature. The Beast Series began with the Fafnir silver rounds release in 2020.
