{{/presale}}The Germanic Beasts Series from Germania Mint was created to honor the ancient mythological creatures of Medieval Northern and Western Europe. Today, you can purchase the 2 x 1 oz Silver 2020 Germanic Beasts Fafnir Space Red and Green Round Set from Provident Metals with special presentation packaging.
Highlights:
The rounds in this set ship in special luxury blisterpacks for both display and protective purposes. The rounds come in capsules and ship with numbered Certificates of Authenticity.
In this set, you will receive two rounds that feature the same designs on both sides of the rounds. The main difference between the two rounds lies in their colorizations. One round features Fafnir in a bold red colorization. The other round shows the dragon in a bright green. The background features are gilded on both rounds.
Obverse
Fafnir the dragon is proudly displayed on the obverse of these rounds with his torso wrapping around the design field. At the top of the round, his body appears to vanish, but when you flip the coin over, it reappears right where it left off. You will also see details like Fafnirs claws and tongue. The inscriptions Fafnir and 1 oz Ag 999.9 can be found on the obverse.
Reverse
The lower half of Fafnirs body wraps around the image of the Bicephalous Eagle on the reverse of these rounds. When both sides of the round are shown next to each other, Fafnirs body makes the infinity symbol.
The Bicephalous Eagle is a two-headed eagle that is the symbol for the Roman god Janus who is the god of all origins. He is also the guardian of doors, bridges, gates, and passages. The Bicephalous Eagles two heads each face different directions as a symbol of the past and future.
History
This series of rounds features some of Ancient Germanys oldest and most terrifying creatures. Each issue in the series tackles a new beast, whose tales have been passed down from generation to generation. This series began in 2020 with the Fafnir release.
