History
Vincent Van Gogh was a Dutch painter who was born in 1853. While his career as a painter only lasted 10 years, he was quite prolific. When he died in 1890, Van Gogh left behind nearly 800 paintings and almost as many drawings. He is seen as a leading figure of the post-Impressionist period and continues to inspire artists in all mediums to this day.
