he Hubble Space Telescope played an immense role in the advancement of astronomy when it went into operation in 1990, but astronomers could envision even greater opportunities in the creation of an advanced array that could spearhead infrared astronomy. The concept for such a telescope first emerged in tangible planning in 1996, and the James Webb Space Telescope was finally launched in 2021. Its purpose was to study big questions about the cosmos, the formation and evolution of everything from the universe at large to the smallest planets, and the origins of life. It has already proven such a success as to merit a place in the extraordinary bullion range of South Korean producer Coins Today, in the form of the Space Telescope 2 oz Silver Stacker.

Highlights:

  • Arrives in a secure plastic capsule!
  • An affordable stacker with an unlimited mintage!
  • Contains 2 Troy oz of .999 pure silver, featuring gilded decorations and an antique finish.
  • Issued by Coins Today Korea.
  • Obverse side is a miniature rendition of the James Webb Space Telescope.
  • Reverse side is a concave inverse of that design with a slot for stackability built into its center.

The Space Telescope Silver Stacker is a substantial and affordable bullion round with an unlimited mintage, a must-have item for discerning collectors, astronomy fans, and investors alike. Featuring selective gilded decorations and high-relief engravings accentuated by a gorgeous antique finish, it ships in a secure plastic capsule with full insurance against any possible mishap in transit from the team at Provident Metals.

Obverse

The round’s obverse side features the honeycomb, eighteen-segment structure of the James Webb Space Telescope, its details accentuated by high-relief sculpting and selective touches of gilding. A small optics subsystem nub is sculpted at the center of the array.

Reverse

That nub element’s practical purpose in the design of a stackable round is revealed on a concave reverse side which is just as visually dazzling as the obverse. Here, a recess at the round’s center makes it possible for each round to interlock and stack seamlessly with a round below it.

History

With a bullion range comprised of daring visual designs and evocative subjects, Today LTD has earned a solid reputation in recent years as a signature producer of bullion coins and stackable rounds produced with a degree of flair to be found nowhere else on the market. It’s only fitting that they should turn their attention to a scientific phenomenon like the James Webb Space Telescope, a contribution to the expansion of human knowledge that can be compared to few others. With its dazzling sculpture and competition and flawless stackability, the latest effort from Coins Today is sure to captivate.
