{{/presale}}Coins Today Korea is steadily developing a reputation as a producer of high-quality bullion coins and rounds that bring together great design with well-executed artwork and a touch of creativity. The company introduced its bullion range with a series of stackable shield-shaped bullion rounds that have proved to be popular and well-received. Their latest effort focuses on Korean geography: the Korean Peninsula Silver Stacker is an excellent low-cost bullion round that showcases the contours of the nation, and is now available from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The Korean Peninsula Silver Stacker is a low-cost, easily stackable bullion round available to you in an unlimited mintage from Provident Metals. Sure to attract interest from the astute investor or collector, it ships in a secure plastic capsule, with each shipment fully insured against mishaps in transit.
Obverse
The obverse side shows a contoured high-relief presentation of the Korean Peninsula. The design echoes a classic piece of Korean cartography, the famousDaedongyeojidofirst produced in 1861, and is surrounded by an outline of stylized wave patterns.
Reverse
A reverse imprint of the map and its outline comprises the round’s reverse side. This is precision designed to slot together neatly with the obverse side of a round that it’s stacked on.
History
The Daedongyeojido or “Great Map of the East Land” was the magnum opus of Korean cartographer and geologist Kim Jeong-ho, who was said to have walked the length and breadth of the Korean Peninsula to produce it. The zenith of premodern Joseon Dynasty map-making when it came out in 1861, it contained extraordinary detail about every part of the peninsula and blended Korean and Western techniques. This stackable round from Coins Today Korea pays tribute to that style and to that extraordinary level of detail, in keeping with the producer’s known commitment to creating rounds of artistic merit and cultural significance.
