Obverse
On the obverse of 2 oz Silver Antique Egyptian Gods Horus Rounds, you will find a depiction of Horus in his human form. Most depictions of Horus from Egyptian artwork depict the body of a man with the head of a falcon. As shown here, Horus stands with his falcon head looking to the left of the rounds design field as his right hand clutches a staff. In the lower-left field, you will notice the falcon hieroglyph that represents Horus, as well as the famed Eye of Horus design. In the background, you will notice the silhouette of his primary opponent among Egyptian gods, Set.
Reverse
The reverse side of the Silver Antique Egyptian Gods Horus Round comes with a depiction of Horus in hieroglyphic form. In this design, a falcon is perched just above a cobra and wears the pschent. The pschent was an ancient double crown worn by the pharaohs that represented dominion over both Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt. The field includes inscriptions of 2 OZ, 999, and AG.
History
Horus is captured in different forms throughout the recorded history of Ancient Egypt. Some of the earliest appearances of Horus in Egyptian hieroglyphs come from around 3100 BC. The most popular iterations of Horus are as the God of Kingship and God of the Sky.
