{{/presale}}Every war effort requires more than resources, supplies, and capable, well-trained troops. The broader populace needs to stand behind the war effort and support the governments efforts to defeat the enemy. Throughout American history, the government has used propaganda to convince the populace that supporting various war efforts was necessary for success and the proper thing to do. Provident Metals now offers 2 oz Americans Will Always Fight for Liberty Silver Bars online.
Highlights:
In this new series from the Osborne Mint, the Fight For Freedoms Sake collection delivers four silver bar designs honoring the propaganda used to drum up support for the US war effort during World War II. America did its best to remain on the sidelines of World War II, viewing it as yet another destructive European conflict similar to World War I. When the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, the United States couldnt remain on the sidelines anymore. The juggernaut of American industry and military might was soon unleashed on the conflict.
Obverse
The colorized background design combines brilliantly with troops marching information in silver on the obverse of the 2 oz Americans Will Always Fight for Liberty Silver Bar. The Continental Soldiers of the American Revolution stand in formation wearing their blue coats at sunset and silently support their brothers-in-arms marching off to World War II in the foreground.
Reverse
The reverse field shows American soldiers advancing in the face of gunfire, tanks, and explosions in World War II. One of the soldiers stands tall to deliver covering fire from his Tommy gun to support his squadmates advance. A small circle in the bottom of the design field features a fighter plane flying over a tank. An inscription on this side includes The Fight and For Freedoms Sake.
History
The United States sat on the sidelines of World War II from its outset in September 1939 until December 7, 1941. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the American economy shifted to a war stance producing tanks, guns, bullets, planes, and ships to power the Allied war effort. With fresh troops and supplies, the Allies pushed back Nazi Germany in Europe and the US became the only nation to successfully fight a two-front battle in the war by also defeating Japan in the Pacific.
