On the second Sunday of May each year, we celebrate Mothers Day. This day was officially recognized as a national holiday by President Woodrow Wilson in 1914. It was done so in response to a years-long movement by Anna Jarvis to establish a day dedicated just for mothers. It provides a moment to both reflect on the importance of all moms throughout the world as well as to give special thanks and recognition to the mothers in our own life. Right now, you can buy $2 Happy Mother’s Day Legal Tender Notes online at Provident Metals.

History

Mothers Day has been a national holiday in the United States since 1914. However, prior to that, there were other traditions in different countries that also paid tribute to mothers. These include what is called Mothering Sunday in Britain, as well as ancient festivals honoring Cybele, the Great Mother of the Gods. All of these traditions offer their own variations on a common theme: to acknowledge the important role mothers play in our lives, and to express our deepest love for them.
