History

The Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Series stands as one of the most renowned coin programs worldwide. The Royal Canadian Mint consistently produces unique individual releases like this one to add diversity to the esteemed series. Established in 1873, originally known as the NWMP, the RCMP has played a vital role in ensuring Canadian internal security and currently serves in 8 of Canada’s 10 provinces. The name “Mounties” was bestowed upon them due to their service in regions where horses or sled dogs were needed.
