The term Large Date refers to the size and spacing of the numbers in the date on the obverse. In this style, the numerals appear bigger with wider spacing compared to other varieties from the same year.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 1996 Chinese Panda Gold Coin, you will find the long-standing design that has appeared since the start of the series in 1982. It depicts the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests, the main building within the Temple of Heaven. Built in 1420 in south-central Beijing, this landmark is known for its beautiful, circular architecture. The inscriptions here include 1996 and the nation of issue.
Reverse
The reverse side of the 1996 Panda 1 oz Gold Coin offers a design created only for that year. It features a small panda cub sitting among tree branches. Young pandas are playful by nature, a behavior that helps them learn important skills and develop the strength they need as they grow. Inscriptions here include 100, .999, and 1 OZ AU.

Over time, they developed both a diet based almost entirely on bamboo and their recognizable black-and-white coats. Historically, pandas lived across a much larger area, including southern China and parts of Southeast Asia.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All products are discreetly packaged and shipped with full insurance included.
Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
