{{/presale}}Though it is hard to categorize any American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin as a rare item in the Brilliant Uncirculated series, given the length of time it has been available and its relatively low mintage compare to all other years, the 1996 release of the coin fits that description perfectly. When you take into account the even lower availability of certified coins, the 1996 American Eagle is even more difficult to come across. Provident Metals currently offers the 1996 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin in near-perfect condition to you for purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase this 1996 AmericanEagle 1 oz Silver Coin from Provident Metals, you receive a specimen with a Mint State 69 certification. Coins in this condition showcase full, original mint luster with a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. Examples of acceptable flaws at this grade level include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines located outside of the primary focal points of the coin.
Obverse
Obverse design imagery on the 1996 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins includes Walking Liberty. The vision of Liberty shown here is in left-profile relief with Lady Liberty walking toward the sun with her right hand outstretched and her left-hand carries branches of oak and laurel. The American flag is shown around the shoulders of Liberty. Inscriptions on this face of the coin read Liberty, In God We Trust, and 1996.
Reverse
Reverse elements on the 1996 American Eagle Silver Coin showcase the heraldic eagle of the United States. The national seal comes with a bald eagle in front-facing relief with the arrows of war in one talon and an olive branch of peace in the other. The bird has the US national shield on its chest and a triangular cluster of 13 stars over its head. The inscriptions on this side of the coin read United States of America, 1 oz Fine Silver One Dollar, and E Pluribus Unum on the banner clutched in the birds beak.
History
The 1996 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin is the lowest minted silver bullion coin in the history of the series. With just 3.6 million coins available, the next closest mintages are the 1994 and 1997 coins that each sold roughly 4.2 million coins.
