Each 1995 South African Krugerrand 1/4 oz Gold Coin available here ships in a plastic flip. These smaller denominations were first issued 13 years after the launch of the 1 oz version. Made of 22-karat gold, the coin contains 91.67% gold and 8.33% copper, giving it added resilience and a warmer appearance.
Obverse
The front of this 1995 South African Krugerrand Gold Coin displays a left-profile image of Paul Kruger, the former South African president. Otto Schultz designed the portrait, and the words SUID-AFRIKA and SOUTH AFRICA encircle it to reflect the country’s official languages at the time the coin series began.
Reverse
On the reverse of 1995 Krugerrand 1/4 oz Gold Coins, you’ll find the graceful springbok antelope in motion, a national emblem of South Africa. This design, created by Coert Steynberg, captures the animal mid-leap and features details like its curved horns and natural movement across the plains. The inscriptions include 1/4 KRUGERRAND, 1995, and FYNGOUD 1/4 OZ FINE GOLD.
History
Throughout the 1980s, the Krugerrand became a dominant force in the global bullion market. Despite trade restrictions tied to the politics of apartheid, the coin represented around 90% of the international gold coin market. In 1980, fractional-ounce coins like the 1/4 oz Krugerrand were introduced, offering a more budget-friendly way to own gold.

For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
