{{/presale}}First minted by the United States Mint in 1986, the American Silver Eagle has grown to become one of the most highly sought-after silver bullion coins worldwide. Initially featuring a heraldic eagle on its reverse, these coins underwent a transformation in mid-2021, now presenting a contemporary portrayal of the majestic bald eagle in mid-flight. You can find the 1986-2024 American Eagle Silver 40-Coin Sets available in certified condition right here at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Please note that each set includes a box designed to hold all 40 coins issued since 1986. The coins are individually enclosed in NGC slabs, and each set includes two 2021-dated coins. The 2021 issue stands out as the only one in the series with two versions of the coin, reflecting the transition from the original reverse to the new, modern reverse design.
Obverse
On the obverse side of American Eagle SilverCoins, you’ll find the historic image of Walking Liberty by Adolph A. Weinman. Her left-profile relief captures her full-length figure as she strides toward the sun on the horizon, clutching branches of oak and laurel in her left hand.
Reverse
For the reverse field of Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins, you’ll notice one of two designs. Coins dated 1986 to mid-2021 feature John Mercanti’s original depiction of the heraldic eagle. Coins dated mid-2021 to the present showcase the new soaring eagle, a left-profile relief of the bird in flight as it clutches an oak branch.
History
The American Eagle Silver Series exclusively offers 1 oz silver options for both investors and collectors. Upon its introduction in 1986, the series included BU (Brilliant Uncirculated) and Proof options. In 2006, a Burnished version was introduced. Since 1986, the only version of the coin issued every year without a missing date mark is the BU Silver Eagle.
