{{/presale}}The American Eagle Silver Coin is offered by the United States Mint on an annual basis. As a result, the coins are available each year in certified sets containing one of each date mark from the series. Today, you have the opportunity to get 1986-2021 American Eagle Silver 36-Coin Sets online at Provident Metals with near-perfect certifications.
Highlights:
American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins are available in Brilliant Uncirculated, Proof, and Burnished versions each year. The US Mints 2021 release of the coins comes with the first design change in the history of the series. By mid-2021, the reverse field of the coins will come with a new design element depicting an American bald eagle in flight. This not only makes 2021 the first year to boast a new design element, it is also the first to feature two design combinations as the early 2021 releases feature the original combination of Walking Liberty and the Heraldic Eagle.
Obverse
Walking Liberty is depicted on the obverse side of the coins in the 1986-2021 American Eagle Silver 36-Coin Set. The image of Liberty captures her figure walking toward the sun on the horizon with the American flag draped over her shoulders. Inscriptions on this side of the coin read Liberty, In God We Trust, and a date mark.
Reverse
The heraldic eagle of the United States features in the reverse design of 1986-2021 American Eagle Silver Coins in the 36-Coin Set. 2021 marks the final appearance of the heraldic eagle on the American Eagle Silver Coin. It features the powerful bald eagle with a US national shield on its chest. The bird clutches the arrows of war and olive branch of peace in its talons. Above its head is a triangular cluster of 13 stars. Inscriptions include United States of America, E Pluribus Unum, and 1 oz. Fine Silver – One Dollar.
History
The new 2021 design on the reverse of the American Eagle Silver Coin replaces the John Mercanti design of the heraldic eagle. The heraldic eagle is one of Americas oldest coin designs still in use. It was first created in 1794 by Robert Scot, the 1st Chief Engraver of the United States Mint. Mr. Mercanti served as the 12th Chief Engraver of the United States Mint at the end of his career, holding the title from 2006 to 2010.
