In 1979, the United States Mint issued an all-new version of the US Mint Set. For just the seventh time overall, a US dollar coin was included in the US Mint Set. The 1979 release included the first-ever Susan B. Anthony Dollar Coin, a product that replaced the Eisenhower Dollar. Today, you have the chance to get the 1979 US Mint Set online from Provident Metals.

Highlights:

  • Arrives with sealed plastic and the potential for an outer shipper!
  • 1st set to include the new Susan B. Anthony Dollars!
  • Offers six different coin designs!
  • Contains various metallic alloys in the coins.
  • The individual face values are in US dollars.
  • On the obverse and reverse sides of the coins are various designs.
  • Please bear in mind it is possible to receive sets without an outer shipper, but all coins remain in good condition.

In 1973, the United States Mint issued the first US Mint Set with a US dollar coin inside. The first coins of this denomination were the Eisenhower Dollars. These were issued in sets from 1973 to 1978. In 1979, the Eisenhower Dollar was replaced with the smaller Susan B. Anthony Dollar, though the latter was only issued until 1981 as its eleven-sided design was not well-received by the public.

Designs

On the obverse and reverse sides of the coins in 1979 US Mint Set, you will find varying designs by denomination. Included in this set are the Lincoln Penny, Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt Dime, Washington Quarter, Kennedy Half Dollar, and the Susan B. Anthony Dollar.

Ordering

The 1979 US Mint Set is available with sealed plastic sheets for the coins. While there is the potential to receive a set with the original outer shipper, it is also possible that some of the sets will be missing the outer shipper given the age of the series. All of the coins remain in good condition regardless.
