Struck with 90% silver and 10% copper, these coins were part of Mexicos mid-20th century silver currency series. We cannot guarantee whether you will receive a coin from 1955 or 1956, nor whether it will be in AU or XF condition. All coins are selected randomly after your order is processed.
Obverse
The obverse of these 1955-1956 Mexican Silver Coins shows the Mexican coat of arms with a golden eagle in left-profile relief. The eagle perches on a cactus as it battles a serpent, with a wreath below and identifying inscriptions in Spanish around the rim. The inscriptions here read ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS, DIEZ PESOS, 28.888 G, LEY 900, and the date mark.
Reverse
The reverse of the 1955-1956 10 Peso Mexican Silver Coin carries the bust of Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla. This left-facing portrait honors the man remembered as the Father of Mexican Independence for his pivotal role in Mexicos independence movement. Inscriptions here read INDEPENDENCIA Y LIBERTAD and HIDALGO.
History
Miguel Hidalgo, born in 1753 in Guanajuato, was known as a progressive thinker and parish priest. He supported education, agriculture, and small industries for local communities while challenging Spanish colonial limits. His leadership and ideas helped spark Mexicos fight for independence.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All products are discreetly packaged and shipped with full insurance included.
Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
