{{/presale}}Among the four denominations issued in the 1918 Series Federal Reserve Note, the $500 note was the smallest face value. In 1934, all four of these notes received a design overhaul that saw all four reverse fields change and two of the obverse portraits change. Provident Metals now has certified 1934 $500 Federal Reserve Notes available to you for purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase a 1934 $500 Federal Reserve Note online at Provident Metals, you will receive a paper note that is in About Uncirculated 50 condition. Notes in this condition showcase one or two heavier fold lines, with moderate signs of handling. These notes were not used in wider circulation, but were handled for bank-to-bank transfers. We are not able to guarantee which grading house label you receive, PCGS or PMG. Your notes are chosen at random after your payment clears.
Obverse
The obverse of the 1934 $500 Federal Reserve Note comes with a portrait of President William McKinley. The 25th President of the United States, President McKinley was first elected to office in the 1896 election. He was then reelected in 1900, but was assassinated in 1901 just weeks after the 1900 election.
Reverse
On the reverse side of 1934 $500 Federal Reserve Notes is a plain design element. The field features the name of the nation of issue across the center, as well as the denomination of the bill. The denomination is further noted in all four corners of the note.
History
The 1934 Series redesigned all four of the 1918 Series Federal Reserve Notes. The $500 and $1,000 bills received new designs on the obverse and reverse, with President McKinley replacing John Marshall on the former and President Grover Cleveland replacing Alexander Hamilton on the latter. While President James Madison and Salmon P. Chase remained on the obverse of $5,000 and $10,000 notes, respectively, while the reverse sides of both notes were altered.
