The Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle is known as one of the most important coin designs in American history. Released in 1907, this design was the final version used for the Pre-1933 $20 Double Eagle series and presented a bold new image of Liberty that reflected the countrys development. Each 1927 $20 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle Gold Coin available here is graded Mint State 66+ by PCGS. Coins at this grade level show strong luster and only a few light contact marks. These marks are minor and typically located outside of central focal areas. Hairlines are not seen unless under magnification.

Obverse

The obverse of the 1927 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle Coins shows Liberty in a forward-facing pose. She holds a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left, with rays of sunlight behind her. Stars encircle the border of the design, and the Capitol Building is shown near the bottom. Inscriptions include LIBERTY and 1927.

Reverse

The reverse of 1927 $20 Double Eagle Gold Coins depicts a bald eagle in flight. Shown gliding from left to right, the bird flies across the design with the rising sun beneath it, creating a sense of motion and optimism. Inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, TWENTY DOLLARS, and IN GOD WE TRUST.

History

During 1927, all three U.S. Mint branchesPhiladelphia, San Francisco, and Denverstruck Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles. Of the three, San Francisco produced the most. The Philadelphia Mint struck nearly 2.95 million pieces, but only about 178,000 survive in Mint State today. Of those, around 365 have been certified as MS66+ by PCGS.

How Does Free Shipping Work?

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All products are discreetly packaged and shipped with full insurance included.

When will my order ship?

Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.

Can I choose the method of shipping?

All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.

Will I need to sign for my package?

For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.

What about International Orders?

Provident is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.
