Obverse

The obverse of the 1924 Peace Dollar Coin features the striking image of Lady Liberty, designed by Anthony de Francisci. Libertys left-profile bust is adorned with free-flowing hair, topped by a shining crown of rays. The national motto and the year of issue are also featured on this side, making the design even more symbolic of the era it was minted in. The inscriptions read LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRVST, and 1924.

Reverse

On the reverse, the 1924 Peace Dollar Silver Coin features an American bald eagle perched on a rock with an olive branch in its talons. This peaceful pose symbolizes the hope for a new dawn and the beginning of a peaceful era for the nation. The eagle gazes into the distance as the sun rises in the background. Inscriptions here read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DOLLAR, and PEACE.

History

Between 1921 and 1928, as well as in 1934 and 1935, a total of 191,394,726 Peace Silver Dollars were minted. In 1924, Philadelphia struck 11.811 million coins, making it one of the more common years for this series. The mintage helped ensure the availability of Peace Dollars for collectors and investors alike.
