Obverse
The obverse side of the 1922 Peace Dollar displays Anthony de Franciscis vision of Lady Liberty. Shown in left-profile relief, Liberty is depicted with flowing hair and a radiant crown of light. The design reflects themes of freedom and hope, alongside the national motto and date mark. Inscriptions include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRVST, and 1924.
Reverse
On the reverse of 1922 Peace Dollar Coins, the bald eagle symbolizes peace. The 1922 Peace Silver Dollar stands out as the year with the series’ highest production volumes. Of the 84 million coins minted in 1922, the Philadelphia Mint produced an impressive 51.737 million coins, marking a peak in the series’ history. Additional coins came from the San Francisco Mint, with 17.475 million coins, and the Denver Mint, with 15.063 million coins.
