When you purchase the 1902-O Morgan Dollar Silver Coin from Provident Metals, rest assured that it will be in Mint State 64 condition. These coins exhibit an average mint luster for their age, with minor contact marks grouped together, a few slightly heavier marks, and one or two small patches of hairlines.
Obverse
The obverse design of the 1902-O Morgan Dollar portrays Liberty in left-profile relief, adorned with a laurel wreath, coronet crown, and a Phrygian capa timeless representation of the 19th-century design.
Reverse
On the reverse side, you’ll discover the image of the heraldic eagle of the United States. This rendition of the seal does not incorporate the US national shield. Instead, it presents the eagle in front-facing relief, wings spread wide, clutching arrows of war in one talon and an olive branch of peace in the other.
History
The New Orleans Mint produced Morgan Silver Dollars in varying quantities throughout its operational years. Notably, during the initial period from 1879 to 1884, production was relatively high, with millions of coins minted each year. However, after 1884, production decreased significantly, and the mint ceased all coin production in 1909.
