Obverse
Lady Liberty is depicted in a portrait on the obverse side of these Morgan Silver Dollar Coins. Facing left, Liberty possesses an aura of dignity and nobility as she wears a crown of wheat and a Phrygian cap. A band is also wrapped around her head inscribed with the word LIBERTY. The obverse also features decorative stars along the rim and inscriptions that read E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1885.
Reverse
A bald eagle is shown on the reverse of 1885-O Morgan Silver Dollars. The eagle symbolizes courage and freedom as it flies with open wings in a front-facing position. On either side of the bird, youll see a laurel, while below it the New Orleans mintmark is shown. Youll see inscriptions also reading UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, ONE DOLLAR.
History
Designed by William Strickland, the New Orleans Mint officially opened its doors on March 8th, 1838. Almost exactly four decades later, the U.S. Mint struck the first Morgan Dollar at the Philadelphia branch. In 1879, The New Orleans branch, which had closed due to the Civil War, was re-opened to help satisfy the demand for the nations new Silver Dollar.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
