{{/presale}}The Queens Beast heraldic figures have been a popular silver and gold bullion coin release from the Royal Mint since 2016. However, if you want to capture these beasts as originally featured during the coronation ceremony of Queen Elizabeth II, the only way to do so is with the new Queens Beast 10-Statue Set. Provident Metals now has 100 oz Silver Antique Queens Beast 10-Statue Sets available to you for purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase a 100 oz Silver Antique Queens Beast 10-Statue Set online at Provident Metals, you will receive a set of 10 individual 10 Troy oz silver statues. Each statue has sterling silver content, the equivalent of 92.5% silver per item. The statues are finished with an antique polish that lends old-world charm to the product and highlights the intricate details. All statues are wrapped in protective materials within the box and come with a Certificate of Authenticity booklet. The booklet authenticates the set and offers detailed backgrounds on each of the silver statues contained within the set.
Designs
Each one of the individual statues in the 100 oz Silver Antique Queens Beast 10-Statue Sets features a different heraldic beast supporting a shield. That shield bears symbols representative of a particular monarch and the house from which that monarch rose to become King or Queen of England. In many cases, the shield bears a version of the Royal Arms of England from a particular era, while others reflect a personal badge of the reigning monarch.
The most important statues you will find in this set include the Lion of England and the Unicorn of Scotland. The Lion of England is the first heraldic beast ever associated with the crown. The Lion of England appeared in the first official Royal Arms of England adopted in the late-12th century by King Richard I. Known better as King Richard the Lionheart, his Three Lions badge became the first official Royal Arms of England in 1198 and cemented the status of the Lion of England as the preeminent beast in English heraldry.
As for the Unicorn of Scotland, it has been a supporter of the Royal Arms of England alongside the Lion of England since 1603 when King James VI of Scotland took control of his cousins throne. That cousin just happened to be the childless Queen Elizabeth I of England. Her death in 1603 with no heirs allowed James VI to consolidate the crowns of England and Scotland in one being, himself, and he brought with him the Unicorn of Scotland to support the Royal Arms.
History
In total, 10 heraldic beasts greeted Queen Elizabeth II as she entered Westminster Abbey for her official coronation in 1953. Alongside the Lion of England and Unicorn of Scotland, this set depicts the other eight beasts from that day as: the Red Dragon of Wales, the Griffin of Edward III, the Falcon of the Plantagenets, the Black Bull of Clarence, the Yale of Beaufort, the White Lion of Mortimer, the White Greyhound of Richmond, and the White Horse of Hanover.
