Primary Design
These 10 oz Silver Rhodium and Gold Plated .50 Caliber Bullets take on the 3D shape of the .50 caliber round developed in the 1910s by John Browning. The .50 caliber was originally developed for a field-deployed heavy machine gun that saw wide use in World War II. Following the war, the United States Armed Forces found more platforms to deploy the .50 caliber round on, including machine guns mounted on helicopters and armored vehicles. Most recently, .50 caliber bullets have been deployed in long-range sniper rifles.
Unique Plating
10 oz Silver Rhodium and Gold Plated .50 Caliber Bullets in this listing come with a distinctive dual-metal plating. The entirety of the shell case and base of the silver bullet have a rhodium plating that provides brilliant luster. The projectile round and the firing pin at the base of the bullet include 24-karat gold plating. On the base of the silver bullet, you will find the weight, purity, and metal content along with a SilverTowne mint mark.
History
The SilverTowne Mint mark featured on the base of the 10 oz Silver Rhodium and Gold Plated .50 Caliber Bullet is that of a pick ax. The iconic pick ax is featured in the SilverTowne T and is carried by the mint logo of the Prospector.
