{{/presale}}Since 2016, the South Korean mint KOMSCO has been producing Tiger medallions that both collectors and investors appreciate. While initially only a gold edition was available, beginning in 2018 the mint also began offering a silver version. Here, we are excited to showcase the 10 oz silver option with an antique finish, which lends the piece an appealing vintage quality. Right now, you can buy 2022 Antique South Korean Tiger 10 oz Silver Medals online from Provident Metals.
Medal Highlights:
All 2022 Antique South Korean Tiger Medals in this online listing will arrive in new condition. Each piece will be housed in a sturdy plastic capsule, which is perfect for storage and display purposes. In addition to their antique finish, these medals also boast an investment grade .999 purity level along with a latent security device on the reverse field.
Obverse
On the obverse of 2022 Antique South Korean Tiger Silver Medals a youthful Siberian tiger is depicted climbing a mountain. The peak is known as Seoraksan, which is the highest in the Taebaek mountain range. The obverse field also includes a paw print design and inscriptions reading KOREAN TIGER, 2022, 10 OZ SEORAKSAN.
Reverse
The reverse of 2022 South Korean Tiger 10 oz Silver Medals contains a unique rendering of the Korean peninsula. Rather than using a standard map visual, KOMSCO has structured the design through letters from the Hangul alphabet. Also, along the edge, there are inscriptions reading REPUBLIC OF KOREA, FINE SILVER .999.
History
The Siberian tiger is recognized as the worlds largest tiger subspecies. Other members of this category include the Bengal tiger, Malayan tiger, and Sumatran tiger. While they roamed the mountains of South Korea centuries ago, today the Panthera tigris altaica is mainly found in the Birth forests of Russia. In addition to being the largest tiger subspecies, the Siberian tiger is also recognized as the worlds largest felid.
