One of the easiest ways to get started investing in silver is to purchase historic circulation coins. Products such as 90% silver coins produced for circulation by the United States Mint have very low premiums because the coins were heavily handled in circulation, but each one still holds metallic value based on its metal content. Right now, you can buy a $10 Face Value of 90% Silver Coins made up for dimes, quarters, and/or half dollars at Provident Metals.

Highlights:

  • Arrives with a bag containing various dimes, quarters, and half dollars!
  • Pre-1965 circulation US silver coins!
  • Coins have varying individual face values for a total of $10 (USD) in the bag.
  • Obverse and reverse designs vary by the denomination and period of issue.
  • When possible, Provident Metals will fill a bag with one type of denomination, but please note you could receive a mixture of denominations in the bag.

If you purchase the $10 Face Value bag in this listing, you will receive a resealable bag of $10 (USD) silver coins. Each individual coin comes with 90% silver content. All of the coins in this listing will have date marks up to 1965, but not more recently than that point. The coins available to fill this bag include the dime, quarter, and half-dollar denominations.

Obverse

The obverse of each coin will feature the image of Lady Liberty or a bust of a national leader. The specific designs depend on the coins contained within and the date range for that coin. For example, US quarters in this bag would most likely feature the Standing Liberty design used from 1916 to 1930 or the Washington Quarter design used on US coins since 1932. While the latter is still in circulation today, the Washington Quarter only had 90% silver content from 1932 to 1964.

Reverse

Similarly, the designs on the reverse of the coins in this $10 Face Value bag of 90% silver coins depend on the denomination. As an example, if you receive a bag filled with dimes, you could find the denomination with a wreath around it on the Barber Coins produced from 1892 to 1916. The Mercury Dime, available from 1916 to 1944, features a Roman fasces surrounded by an olive branch.

History

The United States produced its circulating denomination silver coins with 90% silver content. This practice continued until 1964 when the price of silver made it prohibitive to continue producing circulation coins with such a purity level.

Ordering

Please keep in mind that Provident Metals will try to fill your resealable bag with coins of the same denomination. However, it is possible based on availability in our warehouse that you will receive a mixture of dimes, quarters, and/or half dollars to fulfill the $10 face value.
