{{/presale}}Dog and cat owners will forever argue about the benefits of their respective choice in household pets. Dog-owners think cats are lazy and useless as pets, while cat-owners think dogs are messy and too intrusive. Wherever you stand, you can no doubt appreciate the value a pet can bring to ones life. Cat-lovers can rejoice in the unique new design on a silver round from Intaglio Mint. Today, you can get 1 oz Silver Three Sleeping Cats Rounds online from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The domestic house cat is arguably the most popular species of cat in the world among the 38 wild cats and this one domesticated species. A 2021 estimate puts the number of owned cats in the world at 220 million, with another 480 million strays believed to be wandering the planet as well. In the United States alone, there are an estimated 95 million cats kept as pets, second only to the number of dogs as pets in the US.
Obverse
On the obverse side of 1 oz Silver Three Sleeping Cats Rounds is a depiction of sleeping cats. As the name suggests, youll find three cats sleeping together to keep warm. The trio of cats has their heads in at the center with their bodies swirled out around the field creating a bit of a vortex-visual element. This side of the round has no inscriptions, offering a clean finish focused solely on the three cats.
Reverse
The reverse field of Silver Three Sleeping Cats Rounds comes with an image of the Intaglio Mint logo. The I-shaped column logo of Intaglio is at the center of the interior field of the round. An established date of 2010 is noted on the base of the column. Immediately surrounding this are a beaded border and the inscription INTAGLIO MINT. There is a swirling pattern throughout the larger background field, with the edge of this side of the round featuring inscriptions of ONE TROY OUNCE, .999 FINE SILVER, and the Roman numeral date mark of MMXXII.
History
The most common tales regarding the domestication of cats date to around 3100 BC in Ancient Egypt. Cats were not only domesticated in Egypt, but also venerated and worshiped as deities of sorts. However, there is additional evidence to suggest cats were domesticated as far back as 7500 BC in the Near East.
