{{/presale}}Today, humanity has a full view of the planet it calls home and knows that ships can sail from one point on the globe completely around to that same point. Theres no need to fear falling off the face of the Earth, but that wasnt always knowledge that was widely held, or even, widely believed. Even some of the most impressive civilizations from centuries gone by didnt accept that the Earth was round. This concept comes to light in another new design in the Finding Silverbug Island Series. Today, you have the opportunity to purchase 1 oz Silver Proof Ends of the Earth Silverbug Island Rounds online from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
The search for Silverbug Island has taken explorers around the world, and in the latest design we see just how perilous traveling the globe could be. Before satellites could picture the planet from the cosmos and airplanes could whisk people around the globe in hours, brave sailors took to ships to expand humanitys understanding the planet on which it lived and how that planet looked. For thousands of years, humanity was convinced the Earth was flat and to approach its edges meant certain death.
Obverse
On the obverse side of the 1 oz Silver Proof Ends of the Earth Silverbug Island Round, you will find the latest design in the Finding Silverbug Island Series. In this design, a sailboat sails along on what seems like a normal day at sea. The water is calm, the sun is out, and a handful of clouds dot the sky. As the boat sails along, perhaps toward the treasure chest in the foreground, the waters of the ocean give way and crash down into an unknown abyss never to recycle back to the surface. Sailors who get too close will find themselves disappearing from the surface of Earth, never to rise again.
Reverse
The reverse field of Silver Proof Ends of the Earth Silverbug Island Rounds comes with the common design used throughout the collection. Silverbug Island emerges from the depths consisting entirely of silver coins. A ship sailing in the distance is no doubt second-guessing its pursuit of the treasures having seen that the island has claimed other ships and lives.

The Finding Silverbug Island Series from the North American Mint started in 2015. It honors the Silverbug community on Reddit and comes with a fresh design each year. The Ends of the Earth design is the latest and comes in the antique, proof, and bullion versions other releases have offered.
