The Double-Headed eagle is a historic image that dates back thousands of years, with its earliest appearances in ancient Mesopotamian and Hittite cultures around 4000 BCE. It later became a key symbol in the Byzantine Empire after Emperor Constantine chose it to represent authority over both eastern and western territories. Right now, 1 oz Silver Double-Headed Eagle Rounds from MK Barz are available at Provident Metals.

Highlights:

  • Arrives inside protective plastic!
  • Iconic Double-Headed Eagle emblem!
  • Hand-poured silver round!
  • Contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver.
  • Double-Headed Eagle on the obverse.
  • MK Barz logo and hallmarks on the reverse.

Each 1 oz Silver Double-Headed Eagle Round is available in protective plastic packaging. These rounds are hand-poured, giving them a one-of-a-kind look and feel. This method of production means that no two rounds are exactly the same due to natural variations in the finish.

Obverse

The obverse design of the Silver Double-Headed Eagle Round features the eagle with two heads. This historic image continues to appear in national emblems today, including those of Russia, Serbia, Albania, and Montenegro, linking the design to a long legacy of cultural identity and leadership.

Reverse

On the reverse of the 1 oz Silver Double-Headed Eagle Round, youll find the MK Barz logo. This includes the skull-and-crossbones design, as well as stamped details such as the rounds weight and metal purity. Inscriptions read MK BARZ, 999, 1, and OZT.

History

After its rise in the Byzantine Empire, the Double-Headed eagle was adopted by other major powers, including the Holy Roman Empire and the Russian Empire under Ivan III during the 1400s. Over time, it came to represent sovereign rule and a connection between religious and worldly power.
